FULL TIME ROLE - HYBRID - IMMEDIATE START
We are looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team. The role will be hybrid, working between our London office and home-based, reporting to the Director of Underwriting.
Working within the Accident and Health Team, the Underwriting Assistant will support the Underwriters in the acquisition and retention of target business for Ortus Underwriting by providing administration support.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual, with excellent organisational skills, good people skills and an eye for detail. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential as well as having good analytical skills. Must be efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Previous knowledge of Personal Accident / Business travel products would be desirable, but is not essential.
Progression towards ACII qualification (not essential but preferred).

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work with all relevant parties supporting the profitable development of the PA/Travel portfolio
- Support individual case referral from Brokers and delegated authority holders
- Work within the underwriting controls and procedures and agreed underwriting authorities
- Action all daily enquiries from Brokers as directed by your Line Manager(s), which requires a good level of product and customer knowledge
- Assign and chase renewals twice a week
- Process declarations and mid-term adjustments on policies and any other administration and taking on responsibility for amendments and adjustments on existing business up to a level befitting the role
- Deal with new business enquiries and renewals up to a level befitting the role
- Ensure that all quotes and issuing are dealt with in line with our published service standards
- Provide accounts assistance support and reporting assistance as and when required
- • Issue new business and renewal business via the online system when required
