London, 9th May 2023: Today, Ortus Underwriting has announced the launch of a new Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) product exclusively for the motoring industry. The innovative product provides financial cover for individuals in the event of an unexpected accident, illness, or job loss.
The new ASU offering from Ortus Underwriting, which will be made available initially via Spectrum Insurance Services, specialist providers of insurance for the motor industry, will protect an individual for essential costs in the event they are no longer able to earn a living.
The maximum monthly benefit payable for any claim is 65% of the policy holder’s normal income or £2,000, whichever is the less. The policy provides cover for up to 12 months for any one claim if the policy holder cannot work due to an accident, sickness or due to unemployment through no fault of their own. The benefits available for unemployment also apply if the policy holder has to give up work to become a carer.
In addition, the policy will provide an independent advice service with help and guidance on achieving a speedy return to work in the event of loss of employment. This service includes unrestricted access to a professional career advisor, a ‘Back to Work’ guide, help with finding job vacancies and access to an online job seekers website, advice on CV preparation and tips on interview techniques.
